Recently I ditched the Panasonic DVX100b and joined the dark-side of DSLR video production. After much trial and error with a lot of different cameras I ended up going with the Nikon D7000 mainly for its video capabilities, dual SD card slots and extremely sharp lens choices it was the right fit. I will probably upgrade again later this year I will step up to the D800 and as well have to increase my computer storage. As many DSLR users know, the main downfall of shooting with a small camera verses a large prosumer camera is stability. I quickly found I couldn’t just free hand events like I used to, so I begun my collection of gear.   Currently I’m using a Glidecam4000 for versatile moving shots, a 7′ Jib crane for more planned events and private shoots, a manfroto tripod and monopod for the everyday quick shot, and also just picked up a Kamerar slider for some artistic shots. Pretty soon I will be picking up a remote controlled “drone” to use with my GoPro Hero 3 for some different perspectives, but for now I seem to have everything...
